Horizonless

The Trilogy Without Horizon marks my definitive transition to abstraction. The abandonment of the horizon line should be interpreted as a metaphor for a total immersion in my inner self, and while the titles refer to specific places, only the colors and light remain of their memory. The bright, joyful colors of Salò are in my DNA, imprinted in my genetic code, while the blue reflections of Hijelle are those of a lake in the Norwegian fjords. Ayries Inlet is a ravine of light between land and sea in Australia, a light that remains imprinted on the retina.

These oil-painted canvases began life as watercolor sketches, then allowed to settle, reimagined, and reborn in the numerous layers, starting from canvases I prepared using an ancient technique that allows for maximum color vibration.

With this trilogy, we transcend the confines of representation and abandon the objective reality of what we see, digging deeper within ourselves. It's an invitation to seek our inner oasis.
